ADVICES FOR TURISTS BEFORE TRAVELING TO BOLIVIA

Before traveling to our country Bolivia, we recommend to take the following advices and information

HIGH ALTITUDE:

High altitude known as (Sorojchi) in Bolivia, (Soroche) in Peru, is the set of symptoms caused by a lack of adaptation to high altitude.
As we ascend to heights over 3.000m.a.s.l. there is a progressive decrease in atmospheric pressure and partial pressure of oxygen in the air we breathe, this leads to have little symptoms like headache, dizziness which not usually affect both. If one takes proper acclimatization, we recommend you consume coca tea and spend your first day resting and avoiding activities that require physical exertion.
You can also try the local remedies: the inhabitants of the Andean highlands coca leaf used for centuries to cure sorojchi, or you could buy: SOROJCHI PILLS is the specific medicine to treat and prevent the high altitude symptoms. You must be ready to face high altitude without caring the season of the year that you start your trip.

PREVENTIONS OR RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • It’s important to walk slowly and not to do heavy physical exertion, remember that you will be 3,400m.a.s.l. The idea is to rest for some hours after landing.
